A new Cyberpunk 2077 mod released today removed the filtered grind filter that was introduced in the game shortly after its release.
By deleting the file, the forced grinding removal mode can improve the visual quality of textures, especially for character textures. You can see two comparison screenshots here and there.
This mod does what it’s looking for. If you do not mind grinding, using the NVIDIA or AMD built-in driver grinder will give a better result than the game.
Have the archive folder installed in your Cyberpunk 2077 folder.
Read on if you are curious about this. Patch 1.04 added a forced grind filter to the game, probably due to the vagueness caused by the low dynamic resolution on the console. On a computer or even console, this effect should be optional. This is not the case, and the end result does not often look good. Refer to this CDPR stock exchange to see what I’m talking about.
This mod makes changes to a .env file, since the file is ‘cp2077_master_env_v008_m8’, and if any other mod touches this file, it is not compatible with this mod. The changes made by this mod must be repeated in a conflicting mod. As of now, I do not know of any mods that change the file.
The Cyberpunk 2077 forced grind removal mode can be downloaded from Nexus Mods.
Cyberpunk 2077 is now available worldwide on PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Stadiums.
