Superman’s cousin officially flies to his rescue.
Since his debut on The CW, Superman & Lois was an unmistakable rating success, with a record number of viewers in the week following the launch’s original on February 23 and finally the most streamed show in the network’s history. However, according to a report by Deadline, a recent positive COVID-19 test temporarily delayed the production of the superhero series during filming, which now has an effect on the position on The CW’s release schedule, and it will shake up a bit should be around the gap until the program can meet future air dates. Fortunately, another super-show is flying to deal with the situation.
Prior to this report, Superman & Lois was already renewed for season 2 after the launch loss, which was confirmed via the program’s official Twitter account. Since then, the series around Superman (Tyler Hoechlin), Lois Lane (Bitsie Tulloch) and their sons Jonathan (Jordan Alsace) and Jordan Kent (Alexander Garfin) has only grown its spectator numbers. Due to the production stoppage, Superman & Lois will stand still after airing its fifth episode on March 23 Super girl begins the start of its sixth and final season on March 30 in the same period.
However, this plan seems to be only a temporary saving; Superman & Lois will only be interrupted for two months and return again on May 18 to complete his first-year season. Then it will be Super girl it lasts until summer, when the rest of the season is presented Melissa Benoist will close.

This is not the first time the shows have been forced to rearrange. When CW’s release scheme was first announced, Super girl was especially omitted from the list; it was revealed that this was partly due to the maternity leave of Benoist, who pushed back the production timeline of the program to satisfy their lead. But since we already know that the Girl of Steel will be last season, it seems quite fitting that she will be acting temporarily for her Kryptonic cousin one last time.
Superman & Lois will continue to broadcast until March 23, followed by Super girl on its original timing starting on March 30 and then airing until May 11. Then it will return to S&L on 18 May. We will keep you informed of any further updates as we receive news.
