CVS to Initiate COVID-19 Vaccinations Around Southern California – Orange County Register

Pharmacy giant CVS announced Tuesday, Feb. 2, that it will begin vaccinating COVID-19 for eligible groups at 100 of its stores in California from Feb. 11.

The shots will be fired at locations in Southern California, in cities including Los Angeles, Huntington Beach, Newport Beach and Irvine, although CVS Health spokeswoman Monica Prinzing said the handful of cities mentioned in a news release Tuesday , are not the only places where stores participate.

“The list of specific stores will be available on CVS.com as stores receive vaccines and appointments become available,” Prinzing said.

People who are preoccupied with taking shots under public health guidelines – currently health workers, the elderly 65 years and older and long-term caregivers – must pre-register on CVS’s website or via the CVS Pharmacy app. Anyone without internet access can call customer service at 800-746-7287.

CVS, like other vaccine administrators, works with a limited amount and will not administer any doses without making appointments.

CVS anticipated its plans the same day that the Biden government announced that the federal government would send coronavirus vaccines directly to retail pharmacies, as part of the White House’s strategy to speed up vaccinations nationwide.
