Cure Auto Insurance’s Super Bowl ads are one of those ads that are likely to be despised immediately – even by people who have never heard of the company.
The premise is simple and stupid. A woman (who does not even have to get a name) brings an idiot named Tommy to her boss’s office to explain that Tommy brought her to his office and ‘knocked out his opinion’ – except that Opinion so it is said you can see that it is supposed to be a placeholder for something you should never show to your co-workers.
In case you did not get the awful joke, Tommy then says’ she was in it ‘and brags that he’s a pretty big opinion’.
Their boss, Mrs. Davis, tells Tommy that no one in the office wants his opinion. Tommy repeats the joke again, recalling a happy hour incident where Davis “begged” him for his opinion.
It really is a tasteless joke and it seems like it was just made to arouse anger (which accomplished the mission).
Twitter user Brian McGuinness nailed it and criticized Cure Auto Insurance for trying to make jokes from the #MeToo era.
“Suppose we make sexual harassment at work funny!” ‘Yikes, Cure Auto Insurance. Read the room.8 February 2021
@vard_the_viking was rightly annoyed because he sat through the ad while his parents were in the room.

One of the best comments about the ad comes from @jamesbdwyer, who educated comedian Louis CK, whose sexual misconduct with colleagues became public and was very close to the content of the ad.
Another proof of how bad the ad is comes from Twitter using @katologic, who was angry despite enjoying her favorite cheese.
have all the other people seen that the Cure car insurance was commercial, or that it was just laser-oriented for me to make me feel … angry? and I eat my favorite cheese #plannerbowl8 February 2021
