Crowds protest on Wall Street amid GameStop chaos

Dozens of people gathered at the New York Stock Exchange on Thursday to protest the investment app Robinhood and the badger Wall Street traders amid the ongoing GameStop stock chaos.

Several of the protesters noticed people leaving the building shouting, “Shame!” and “Eat the rich.”

“How much money do you make?” asked one of the protesters repeatedly.

Two other people were seen sinking into the Trump building across the street to avoid the crowd.

The group holds up signs that spell ‘Tax Wall Street Trades’ and says,’ I want my money. I’m looking for it now. “

“We want a free market,” they chanted.

The shouts of ‘F – k Robinhood’ and ‘Robinhood has got to go’ also sounded after the stock trading app earlier on Thursday restricted the purchase of GameStop shares and those of other companies, which sparked a lawsuit and a appeal to an inquiry of legislators.

Robinhood later said it would allow a limited purchase of the bonds from Friday.

Small-time investors, bolstered by the Reddit page / r / wallstreetbets, have skyrocketed the price of several inexpensive stocks like GameStop by buying it largely after learning that hedge funds were “shortening” the stock, or betting that it would fail.

The saga, which pits novice investors against the Wall Street establishment, has sparked lawmakers’ concerns, and both chambers of Congress will now be heard later.
