Cramer’s week ahead: earnings season accelerates

Jim Cramer

CNBC’s Jim Cramer said on Friday that the ‘real earnings’ season will kick off on Monday after the big banks posted their quarterly results earlier this week.

“We’re actually going to have the impact of both inflation and reopening,” he said on ‘Mad Money’. “I think the former is a big negative, but the latter is so positive that the ball can stay in the air, ready for a beautiful thing over the net and to the floor.”

Cramer gave his game plan for the coming week. Earnings-per-share predictions are based on FactSet estimates:

Monday: Coca-Cola, United Airlines, IBM

Tuesday: Abbott Laboratories, Johnson & Johnson, Procter & Gamble, Netflix

Wednesday: Verizon, Lam Research, Chipotle

Thursday: Union Pacific, Dow, Danaher, Nucor, Intel Boston Beer

Pacific Ocean

  • Q1 2021 release of earnings: 08:00; conference call: 08:45
  • Projected EPS: $ 2.06
  • Estimated revenue: $ 5.05 billion

“I think Union Pacific is going to tell a story of making more with less, which means it’s effective,” Cramer said.

Dow

  • Q1 2021 release of income: 06:00; conference call: 8 am
  • Projected EPS: $ 1.12
  • Estimated revenue: $ 11.09 billion

“If PPG is a guide from last night, it should put up some incredible numbers so that the stock can break out to the $ 70s,” he said.

Danaher

  • Q1 2021 release of income: 06:00; conference call: 8 am
  • Projected EPS: $ 1.76
  • Estimated revenue: $ 6.29 billion

“I can not wait to see how well they are doing,” the host said. “I expect a fantastic term.”

Nucor

  • Q1 2021 release of earnings: TBD; conference call: 14:00
  • Projected EPS: $ 3.05
  • Estimated revenue: $ 7.18 billion

“We’re in an inflationary era, whether it’s transitioning or not, so Nucor has to put up incredible numbers,” he said.

Intel

  • Q1 2021 release of earnings: to market; conference call: 17:00
  • Projected EPS: $ 1.14
  • Estimated revenue: $ 17.78 billion

“I think Pat does an excellent job of inspiring people inside and outside this wonderful institution,” Cramer said. “If the stock were hit, I would be a buyer. Gelsinger can not turn the Intel battleship on a cent, but it will be turned around.”

Boston Beer

  • Q1 2021 release of income: 16:00; conference call: 17:00
  • Projected EPS: $ 2.55
  • Estimated income: $ 477 million

‘I think the pants will, as always, lean against Boston Bear [spiked seltzer] competition, “he said. My view? The category is growing so fast, Sam Adams’ parent needs to do well, thank you. ‘

Friday: Honeywell, American Express
