The Dallas Cowboys have reached a contract with quarterback Dak Prescott, sources told Charles Robinson, Yahoo Sports.

Adam Schefter of ESPN reports that the expansion for four years and $ 160 million with $ 126 million guaranteed and includes a non-trading clause. The contract includes a $ 66 million bonus and is worth an NFL record of $ 75 million in the first year. according to the report.

The deal ends a long saga that left Prescott playing under the franchise label last season, and owner Jerry Jones has repeatedly addressed the negotiations in public. While playing for $ 31.4 million under the franchise label for one year last season, Prescott suffered a compound fracture of his right ankle that required multiple surgeries.

Monday’s news comes a day before the deadline for the franchise label for the 2021 season.

Prescott, 27, is approaching his sixth NFL season. Before signing the franchise tender in 2020, he played his entire career under a rookie contract he signed as a fourth-round pick that paid him less than $ 5 million in total.

Prescott has won the Pro Bowl twice and led the Cowboys to the playoffs after the 2016 and 2018 seasons.
