The Dallas Cowboys announced it on Saturday they signed offensive coordinator Kellen Moore to an extension of the contract with multi-year contracts.

Earlier in the day, ESPN’s Chris Mortensen and Ed Werder reported that Moore is expected to remain in Dallas, despite the reported mutual interest between him and Boise State over his alma mater’s open head coach position.

At the front, Moore made the following comment in the statement from the Cowboys in which he said.

“I will no longer follow the head coaching at Boise State,” Moore said. “I love Boise States. I will always strive for them, and I hope to be a part of the program again one day.”

Bruce Feldman of The Athletic provided more context regarding Moore’s decision.

“I heard that Kellen Moore would not even consider any other HC posts at this point, but the fact that it was Boise State, he had to think about it, given his commitment to the place,” Feldman tweeted.

The 32-year-old Moore was a quarterback from Boise State from 2008 to 2011. He completed 69.8 percent of his passes for 14,667 yards and 142 touchdowns, leading the Broncos to a 50-3 record. The Broncos reached the Top 10 in the Associated Press three times and won 14-0 in 2009.

Moore was a rugby quarterback or practice team for the Detroit Lions and Dallas Cowboys from 2012 to 2017 before retiring in 2018 and joining Dallas’ coaching staff as his coach. 2020 despite Dallas deciding to replace head coach Jason Garrett with Mike McCarthy.

Fox Sports’ Jay Glazer reported last Sunday that Moore was ‘torn’ between Dallas and Boise State, who allegedly also investigated former BSU linebacker (and Oregon defense coordinator) Andy Avalos for the concert. NFL Network Ian Rapoport reported the Avalos News.

Glazer said Moore likes Boise State, but that a faster way to be an NFL head coach is available by staying in Dallas.

Moore and the Cowboys play a big game against the New York Giants on Sunday. A win and a loss by the Washington Football Team against the Philadelphia Eagles gives the NFC East the title to Dallas.

The Cowboys start Week 17 on a three-game winning streak during which they scored 36 points per game.
