The vaccines are working well and infection levels have dropped fivefold since the beginning of the year.
So why, there are many, could there be such a warning?
This is still a very delicate situation. Nearly half of the hospital admissions for Covid were seen in the 70s, and there are still many vulnerable people who are not protected.
Schools are not considered a significant driver of infection, but modeling still suggests that opening them up to all pupils could increase infection levels.
And high infection rates when vaccines are rolled out are the perfect breeding ground for mutations. While this is inevitable in the long run to some extent, experts believe it would be foolish to do anything at the moment that encourages them.
But instead of making things worse, it is quite possible that it could get better. The seasons can reduce the spread of the virus, and together with the vaccine effect, the UK can end up with very low doses very quickly.
Calls to move faster will grow soon.
