COVID NYC Update: Huge Ma, creator of the TurboVax vaccine website, honored by Andrew Yang, Ritchie Torres

NEW YORK CITY (WABC) – Founder of Vaccine Appointment Website TurboVax was praised Tuesday for making the COVID-19 vaccination easier for New Yorkers.

NYC mayoral candidate Andrew Yang and Congressman Ritchie Torres are honoring TurboVax founder Huge Ma.

Mom, an engineer, has created a simple, free and easy-to-use website that identifies people and enables them to sign up for vaccinations in real time.

His website has made it easier for thousands of New Yorkers to roll out vaccines.

“I never planned to get involved or get confused, I always followed my gut,” Mom said. “When I built TurboVax, I just wanted to make the vaccination process simpler, that’s it. I never expected it would help tens of thousands, probably hundreds of thousands, to get their vaccines now.”

Torres said he helped save lives.

“At a cost of only $ 50, in less than two weeks, Huge managed to do what the federal government and what the local and city government could not do with much greater resources,” Torres said.

Mom also uses its growing platform to raise money to combat anti-Asian violence in the city.
