COVID Notes: 4/10/21 – MLB Trade Rumors

The latest coronavirus situations from baseball…

  • The Yankees reset both Gio Urshela and Robbed smell of the COVID-19 injury list, the team announced. In corresponding moves, fielder Tyler Wade was elected to the alternative training site, and first baseman Mike Ford was selected to the alternative site after last night’s match. It was only a brief absence for Urshela, who eventually missed last night’s match due to some side effects after receiving a vaccine. Odor himself was only in COVID protocols due to the standard intake and testing procedure after being acquired in the Rangers’ trade earlier this week.
  • Cubs first base / catching coach Craig Driver tested positive for the coronavirus and is back in Chicago, the team told reporters (including The Chicago Tribune’s Meghan Montemurro). Contact detection and tests during the past three days showed no other positive results within the team’s travel party. Driver is in his second season on the Cubs ‘coaching staff, having spent the previous two seasons as the Phillies’ receiving coach and bull catcher.
