COVID-19 vaccinations for Fargo-Moorhead’s general public coming soon

FARGO – Essentia and Sanford health systems are notifying patients in the Fargo-Moorhead area that information on the availability of the COVID-19 vaccine will be released soon, perhaps in a few weeks.

Essentia Health encourages patients to sign up for the MyChart online notification service, which should be Essentia’s primary method of vaccination.

The health care provider said he would receive a vaccine award on Friday, Jan. 8, and public vaccinations for residents of North Dakota 75 and older would begin with the week of Jan. 18. Essentia emphasizes that the schedule is subject to change.

According to the Sanford Health website, vaccination notifications will be made through the provider’s MyChart option – My Sanford Chart.

“Sanford Health will notify you when we have a vaccine available. If you are currently a Sanford patient, you will receive a message from My Sanford Chart, a letter and a call or SMS when we are ready to to set up your vaccination, “reads the Sanford Health website.

Vaccines are already being talked about via My Sanford Chart, and the messages emphasize that more information will be released in the coming weeks.

Sanford Health said people, after being notified that vaccinations are available, can make an appointment through My Sanford Chart, dial the phone number in the notice or contact their primary care provider.

Sanford Health expects it to start vaccinating within the general public soon, perhaps within a week or two.

The healthcare provider said it would prioritize patients aged 75 and older with underlying health conditions.

On Friday, Essentia Health said that once someone receives a notification via MyChart, they can plan a vaccination with the same online portal.

Information on how to sign up for Essentia Health’s MyChart can be found at www.EssentiaHealth.org.

In addition to being vaccinated by MyChart, Essentia Health will also send voice messages to patients’ preferred phone numbers.
