COVID-19 Vaccination Clinic Open in Vista | News

A new COVID-19 vaccination center will open in Vista on February 14, providing up to 500 doses daily.

The new clinic is open from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Sundays and Mondays at the Linda Rhoades Recreation Center, 600 North Santa Fe Ave.

All provincial vaccination stations and delivery points, or PODs, currently vaccinate people in phase 1A and people 65 years and older in phase 1B. Everyone needs appointments that can be made at vaccinesconsulting.com. Note that the vaccination superstructure at Petco Park will not vaccinate people for three days due to the delay in shipping the Moderna vaccine.

Community-funded community health workers, known as promoters, contact people 65 and older in National City, Chula Vista, Imperial City and San Ysidro to help them get vaccinated.

The Metropolitan Transit System offers free rides to people with a proof of a vaccination. 2-1-1 San Diego and promoters also have the ability to arrange transportation.

To date, more than 703,000 doses of COVID-19 have been delivered in the region, with nearly 570,000 administered. The difference between the two numbers represents approximately what is expected to be administered over the next seven days and doses still to be entered into the record system. Those vaccinated so far include more than 104,000 San Diegans who have been fully vaccinated, while 15.8 percent of the population over the age of 16 have received at least one dose. More information on the distribution of vaccines can be found on the province’s vaccination panel.
