In early December, Governor Cooper announced the amended Stay-At-Home Order, which was the first set of such restrictions since Memorial Day. The order was extended by three weeks in early January.
The order imposes measures to close non-essential businesses such as gyms, restaurants and retail at 22:00 in the evening and have them reopened at 05:00.
The restrictions also offered to move the alcohol corridor to 21:00

Cooper’s government has announced that the new order, including the curfew and restrictions, will remain in effect until February 28.
“We are encouraged to see that our COVID numbers have stabilized in recent days, which is good,” he said. “But the reality is that they are still high, and that too many people are still seriously ill and dying. The virus is still raging through our communities.”
At the news conference, Governor Cooper also said that the order selling mixed drinks will be in effect until March 31st. The order was originally issued on December 22 and seeks to reduce the number of people meeting in pubs. so that businesses can increase revenue.

Cooper is also extending the eviction moratorium until March 31.
“Health experts have shown that keeping people in their homes is an important way to slow down the virus,” he said. “An eviction moratorium is important as we remain under an Amended Home Order Order.”

On Wednesday, North Carolina health officials reported 5,587 more COVID-19 cases, bringing the total since 733,010. Across the state, 8,915 people died from the virus.
