COVID-19: Two deaths and 249 new cases, Modern shipment cut in half

Another 11,063 doses of COVID-19 vaccine were released Friday after 10,490 jabs.

Saskatchewan reported three new deaths and a total of two days in 538 COVID-19 cases this past weekend.

It included 289 new cases reported on Sunday, bringing the provincial total to 38,160 cases.

Of the three deaths, one Sunday was reported in the age group 50-59 years for the central region north, which includes Prince Albert. The other two who died, after testing positive for COVID-19, had one person in their forties from the central eastern zone and one older than 80 from the northwestern zone.

Saskatchewan’s death toll on pandemic now stands at 465.

An additional 11,063 doses of COVID-19 vaccine were given in Saskatchewan, bringing the total number of vaccines administered in the province to 345,126.

The vaccines were administered to residents living in the following regions: Saskatoon (3,003), Regina (2,624), South Central (1,270), Southeast (997), North Central (925), Central East (766) ), northwest (638)), southwest (203), northeast (170), central west (129), far northwest (28), far north central (9).

Drive-in and walk-in clinics are only available to anyone aged 48 to 54.

HEALTH INCLUDES 45 IN ICU

There are 189 people in the hospital, with 144 people receiving inpatients: Regina (66), Saskatoon (42), far northwest (1), northeast (1), northwest (4), north-central (7), north- east (1), central-east (8), south-west (1), south-central (6) and south-east (7). Of the 45 people in intensive care, most are in Regina (30), followed by Saskatoon (10), north-central (2), south-central (2) and central-east (1).

New cases reported on Saturday were in the far northwest (three), far northeast (three), northwest (14), north-central (10), north-east (seven), Saskatoon (56), central-west ( 12), central east (eight), Regina (73), southwest (18), southern central (eight) and southeast (29) zones. Nine cases tested outside the province have been added to the total number of cases, and another eight cases are awaiting residence information.

More than 300 new variants of concern (VOC) were also confirmed over the weekend, with the largest increases in the province and southern regions. Regina added another 126 VOCs, Saskatoon added 56 and the Southeast added 54. The southwest has 33 more and the southern central zone has added 30.
