Press Release of the Humboldt County Joint Information Center:

A 35de Humboldt County resident died of COVID-19, and 11 new cases have been reported today. It has been established that two cases previously reported are duplicates, and it has therefore been counted from the province’s case. The total number of provincial residents who tested positive for the virus now stands at 3,392.

The community member who passed away was in their 70s. Staff at Humboldt County Public Health and the Emergency Operations Center express their condolences to the person’s family, friends and caregivers.

The Vaccine Data section of the Humboldt County Data Dashboard has been updated today. Humboldt County Public Health and other approved local vaccines administered a total of 43,142 doses of COVID-19 vaccine as of Tuesday, March 16, an increase of 7,314 in the previous week.

Additional highlights of the weekly vaccine data update include:

  • 16,336 Humboldt County residents have been completely vaccinated against COVID-19. This is more than 12% of the estimated total population in the country and 14.5% of the inhabitants of the country who are 16 years or older and currently eligible.
  • 20.3% of the residents received at least one vaccine dose, which means that 1 in 5 residents has at least some protection against the virus.
  • More than half, or 51.8%, of the provincial residents aged 75 and older have been fully vaccinated.
