A total of 2,652 Humboldt County residents tested positive for COVID-19, after 28 new cases were reported today.

Humboldt County County Investigation contact teams are monitoring 194 distribution chains and several small outbreaks across the province, mainly related to indoor gatherings. Local health officials say cases have been reported in various institutions, including workplaces and places of worship. Indoor gatherings are strongly discouraged by the state, and residents of the province are urged to follow all safety precautions of COVID-19 until the spread of the vaccine through the vaccine is made possible.

Public Health continues to vaccinate Phase 1A health workers, with 320 appointments planned today and tomorrow. Many of those who receive vaccines are Home Support Services (IHSS) and other caregivers who provide direct support to the elderly and dependent adults. On Monday, more than 500 emergency services personnel were invited to make an appointment as part of Phase 1B Level 1. While vaccinations are underway for health care workers, public health care providers and local health care providers will extend the appointments to other Phase 1B Tier 1 groups. , including educators, as doses become available.

All provincial residents wishing to receive the COVID-19 vaccine can submit their contact information via an online interest form and be notified when an appointment is available for their priority group. The California Department of Public Health (CDPH) today announced that Humboldt County remains at the “Purple” or widespread level below the “Blueprint for a Safer Economy”, with an adjusted case of 24.3 and a positivity rate of 6 , 8%.

CDPH is also expected to announce a new plan for the distribution of COVID-19 vaccine across the country. As soon as it is available, more information on local consequences will be announced.
