Press Release of the Humboldt County Joint Information Center:

Nineteen new cases of COVID-19 were reported today. Two cases previously recorded were removed after it was established that they came from a different jurisdiction. The total number of Humboldt County residents who tested positive is now 3,053.

Due to unfavorable winter weather conditions in the United States, many vaccine shipments have been delayed. Some local COVID-19 vaccine clinics have been canceled as a result. Public health care providers and other health care providers administering COVID-19 vaccine will reach out to those affected to resume vaccination as soon as the delayed shipments arrive.

The award of COVID-19 vaccine next week is expected to include a total of 4,445 doses, —2,300 Moderna and 2,145 Pfizer. The entire Moderna award is administered as second doses at public health clinics and providers. As of the Pfizer award, 1,170 will be used for the first doses and 975 for the second doses.
