Johnson & Johnson Pause continues; Other vaccines are available this week

The suspension of the Johnson & Johnson vaccine continues. The Advisory Committee on Center Control and Prevention of Immunization Practices (ACIP) met today to review the cases of six women who had rare but severe blood clots within six to 13 days of receiving the Johnson & Johnson vaccine. Although the duration of the break is still unknown, local health officials believe it will have a minimal impact on local vaccination efforts due to the small allocation of this vaccine that the country receives.

Anyone whose appointment was affected by the break can go to MyTurn.ca.gov to plan another vaccination or call the Joint Information Center at 707-441-5000 for information.
