COVID-19 Statistics | 13 January 2021 | Lost Coast Outpost

Press Release of the Humboldt County Joint Information Center:

A total of 2171 provincial residents tested positive for COVID-19, after 33 new cases were reported today.

All Phase 1A healthcare professionals are encouraged to complete the Healthcare Workforce survey below to receive an invitation to a COVID-19 vaccination clinic. This includes people working in health care institutions or long-term care institutions, home carers and community health workers, including promoters.

The form can be linked here: forms.gle/AFys9CLHFHYg5bcC6.

“If you are a health worker and have not yet been vaccinated, register now,” said Dr. Ian Hoffman, health officer in Humboldt County, said. “To be able to enter the next priority group, our health care workers must be vaccinated to prepare for the opening of vaccination clinics for additional groups, including older adults.”

The COVID-19 Data Dashboard of Humboldt County has been updated to include ‘Unknown’ as an additional category for the transfer type, in addition to contact with a known case, travel related, community broadcast and investigation.

A person who tested positive for COVID-19 is identified as the unknown person:

  • Can not be contacted
  • Calls are not returned after initial contact
  • Not willing to work with public health.

Cases that previously met these criteria were investigated as Under investigation. Dr. Hoffman said this new category would provide more clarity on the outcome of investigations.

If you test positive, public health is here to keep you and your loved ones safe. That means we have to talk to you, ‘said Dr. Hoffman said. ‘Please answer the call. Our contact researchers are here to help slow down the spread of the virus, and that requires us all. ”
