Press Release of the Humboldt County Joint Information Center:

33 Additional issues reported today

A total of 3,009 Humboldt County residents tested positive for COVID-19, after 33 new cases of the virus were reported today.

Province to receive 3,550 vaccine doses

The state of California has allocated a total of 3,550 doses of COVID-19 vaccine to Humboldt County, 1,600 Moderna and 1,950 Pfizer for next week. Public Health will use 500 of those in its second vaccination clinic, and the rest will be allocated to locally approved vaccines.

Vaccination priority has recently been extended to include additional groups, although appointments are still offered as the vaccine allows. Currently the following groups qualify for vaccination:

  • Phase 1A health workers
  • Humboldt County residents 70 years and older
  • Emergency workers
  • K-12 and early childhood education, including educators and support staff
  • Licensed childcare providers.

Healthcare providers who are approved vaccinators contact their qualifying patients directly. Public Health contacts individuals who are not yet part of a qualifying workforce using the information submitted via the online vaccine interest form. All provincial residents are requested to complete the form to be notified when an appointment is available for their level.
