COVID-19 hospitalizations and deaths continue to decline

The number of people hospitalized with COVID-19 in Los Angeles County dropped below 1,000 for the first time in more than three months.

At 979, COVID-19 hospitalizations are at their lowest level since November 23rd.

The number of deaths reported by the provincial department of public health (42) on Saturday is also significantly lower than the daily figures in the early winter.

The statistics paint an enlightening picture for the populous province of the state, which was an excellent place for coronavirus infections and deaths.

Meanwhile, 2 million COVID-19 vaccines have been administered across the country in targeted communities, allowing public health officials to alleviate the constraints imposed on a winter supply in cases and deaths.

Los Angeles and Orange are among the 13 counties that are on the verge of leaving California’s most limited level, with four levels reopening.

Starting Monday, LA County will allow the following:

  • Museums, zoos and aquariums can open indoor activities with a capacity of 25%.
  • Gymnasiums, fitness centers and yoga and dance studios can work indoors with a capacity of 10%.
  • Movie theaters can open 25%, with reserved seats separating groups of at least six feet.
  • Retail and personal care services can serve customers up to 50% of their capacity.
  • Restaurants can open indoors with a capacity of 25%, but they must keep a distance of ten meters between tables.
  • Indoor shopping malls can increase capacity to 50%.
  • Schools can reopen for personal tuition for grades 7-12.
  • Members of up to three households can gather indoors in a private setting, but individuals must wear masks and maintain social distance. Those who are fully vaccinated can gather in small numbers indoors without disguising or removing them.
