COVID-19 cases rise in Allegheny County despite increased vaccination efforts – WPXI

PITTSBURGH – Allegheny County saw nearly 600 new COVID-19 cases and ten additional deaths Friday as vaccination efforts push up across the area.

In the past 24 hours, the country has reported 593 new cases of coronavirus, including 433 confirmed cases and 160 probable cases. The new cases involve people from seven months to 96 years old.

The increases come because several COVID-19 vaccination clinics are being held on Friday. Officials from Allegheny Health Network said there are still thousands of vaccines available for two clinics, and no appointment is needed for one on Friday.
