COVID-19 cases increased 1,046; deaths increase 14

The number of positive cases of COVID-19 in Wisconsin rose 1,046 on Thursday, April 8, Wisconsin Department of Health Services (DHS) officials reported, a total of 582,843.

This is the first time that new cases reported in one day have exceeded more than 1,000 since February 11th.

There were 6,667 deaths in the state, with 14 new deaths reported by health officials on Thursday.

Of the positive cases, 27,971 required hospitalization (4.8%), while 567,745 recovered (97.5%), yielding 8,187 active cases (1.3%).

More than 2.7 million tested negative. More than 3.3 million have been tested.
