County launches new vaccination card for vaccination | News

To make it easier for San Diegans to make an appointment to be vaccinated against the new coronavirus, the County today launched a new interactive map containing all the vaccination sites.

People in Phase 1A and 65 years and older can now make appointments via the new English and Spanish website, which, if fully developed, is very similar to the one used to find test areas.

With the new map, users can select a location and connect to the website appointment system. You can access the map by visiting www.vaccinationsuperstationsd.com.

“We try to make it easier for people to make an appointment and to be vaccinated when it’s their turn,” said Wilma J. Wooten, MD, MPH, public health officer. “The vaccine is safe and effective and is the best tool to slow down the pandemic.”

Province to open vaccination clinic in San Marcos

Starting January 31, a new superstructure for the COVID-19 vaccination will be on the San Marcos campus in California State University.

The new pedestrian precinct will vaccinate people, by appointment, from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Sunday through Thursday at the Sports Center and Clarke Field House, located at 333 South Twin Oaks Valley Road in San Marcos. Free parking is available in parking structure 1 on levels 2 and 3 and parking for the disabled in Lot L next to the sports center,

The county-run website is a collaboration between the province and CSU San Marcos, with staff support from Palomar Health, UC San Diego Health and Tri-City Medical Center. It will offer 250 to 1000 doses daily, depending on the availability of vaccines, but can vaccinate 5000 people daily when more vaccine is available. Appointments are required and can be scheduled at www.vaccinationsuperstationsd.com. Appointments for this site will be available Saturday afternoon.

In Borrego Springs this weekend, a CAL FIRE team as part of ‘Operation Collaboration’ will deliver 250 doses of COVID-19, both Saturday and Sunday. Appointments are required.

Operation Collaboration is a consortium of local firefighting agencies using the County Vaccination. CAL FIRE and other groups will soon be moving to other communities as well, especially to vaccinate people in nursing and long-term care homes.

All clinics in the province vaccinate people in phase 1A and people aged 65 and older in phase 1B and need appointments, which you can make at vaccineservice.com. People 75 years and older who do not have access to a computer or internet can call 2-1-1 for help planning an appointment.

San Diegans without transportation can use the Metropolitan Transit system to travel for free to a vaccination site by showing proof of their appointment.

Vaccinations for vaccination are filling up fast, which is why provincial health officials are asking San Diegans to wait their turn and vaccinate if more doses are available.

“Be patient. Your turn will come,” Wooten said.
