Costco to administer COVID-19 vaccines in Los Angeles, Riverside, San Bernardino

LOS ANGELES (KABC) – Costco is ready to offer COVID-19 vaccines in several states, including California.

Costco stores in Los Angeles County are participating in the vaccination program along with those in Riverside and San Bernardino counties.

“Our pharmacies will administer COVID-19 vaccines as soon as they are available, in accordance with CDC and state guidelines,” the wholesale warehouse company said in a statement.

The news release notes that the U.S. prioritizes people at higher risk, including health care workers, adults 65 and older, and other high-risk frontline workers.

The company said it would offer a limited number of COVID-19 vaccines, usually Moderna.

Nationwide, the icy explosion in much of the U.S. this week injected more confusion and frustration into the country’s COVID-19 vaccination rate, just as it was picking up speed, delivering vaccines and canceling numerous shots around forced the country.

The US vaccinates an average of 1.7 million Americans a day against COVID-19, compared to less than 1 million a month ago. New White House figures show a gradual increase in the rate of vaccinations during President Joe Biden’s first month in office.
