
Costco now offers vaccines at some locations in California.

On Saturday, Costco announced that it was launching coronavirus vaccines, primarily Moderna, to locations in California. Currently the only location in the Bay Area is the Novato Costco. There are also participating locations in the counties of Los Angeles, Riverside and San Bernardino. Costco did not specify if and when it would expand the location of the vaccine, although the website said: “come back regularly for updates.”
As of Sunday morning, all available Novato appointments have been booked.
Appointments must be made online. Costco asks that people not call their pharmacies as all scheduling is done through the online portal. You do not have to be a Costco member to use pharmacies.
According to state guidelines, the only persons currently eligible for vaccinations are health and child care workers, adults 65 and older, and high-risk workers. You can qualify here.
“Costco is determined to help protect the health and safety of our members and employees and serve our communities. Our pharmacies will administer COVID-19 vaccines as soon as they are available, in accordance with CDC and state guidelines,” the chain said. a statement said.
Starting Sunday, Costco will also be distributing vaccines in New York, Oregon, Puerto Rico, South Carolina and Washington.
