Corsicana, TX, tornado strikes as storm system moves to Gulf Coast

The emergency management office posted on its Instagram page that the area is about 100 meters wide and 600 meters long. At least 13 mobile homes were damaged, but at the moment there were no reports of injuries, the office said.

They also said that several trees had broken down and that two houses had been damaged due to the fall of trees.

The National Weather Service in Dallas has confirmed a tornado in Corsicana, likely with EF0 intensity on the improved Fujita scale, with winds of 65 to 85 mph.

Corsicana is about 50 miles southeast of Dallas.

Snow, ice and flooding are also expected in Texas and Oklahoma

In addition to the severe storm, snow, ice and rain are expected in the coming days in the region.

Nearly 8 million people are at risk for snow and ice in western Texas in western Oklahoma by Thursday night. Accumulations can be more than a foot in western Texas and at least 6 inches in western Oklahoma and Kansas.

In parts of northern Texas, central Oklahoma, eastern Kansas and northern Missouri, up to a quarter of an inch of ice and possibly more is possible.

On the warm side of the storm, torrential rain is expected in Arkansas, Texas and Louisiana until Friday, with between 3 and 6 inches of rain.

There is a growing concern about the possibility that tornadoes and wind damage will begin on Thursday afternoon and will last after midnight as the New Year dawns. Nearly 18 million are at risk for severe weather.
