Overview
To reduce the spread of COVID-19 and its impact on health and society, a safe and effective vaccine is the key intervention to end the pandemic. Many of the decisions regarding who gets the COVID-19 vaccine depend on the decisions of the state and the federal government. A phased approach
The state’s allocation plan is based on a phased approach, while vaccine doses, as at present, are limited. Orange County follows the required priority set by the federal government and the state of Florida to target the first vaccinations to high-risk health care workers and long-term care residents, with the highest risk of contracting COVID-19. The province also provides the vaccine to residents over the age of 65.
