Coronavirus symptoms: COVID symptoms are likely to occur in this order, a study finds

Fever, a common symptom seen in both the original mutation as well as the more contagious variant currently in circulation, fever is the first symptom that people report after contracting COVID-19.

According to previous studies that mapped the symptoms that COVID patients reported in 2020, fever was the main symptom in more than 76%. There is also a chance that the newer mutation will lead to more symptomatic cases, and fever is increasingly considered a COVID sign.

Most cases have a mild fever (ranging between 99 degrees Fahrenheit and 101 degrees Fahrenheit) and stay for 3 or 4 days. If fever persists for more than a week, or you experience no difference in your symptoms, it may be a sign of serious complications associated with COVID.

Remember, fever can also be accompanied by chills, dullness and malaise accompanied by persistent fever.
