Coronavirus in Oregon: 761 new cases reported with highest daily score since February

The Oregon Health Authority reported 761 new COVID-19 cases on Saturday, the first time since early February that the state has reported more than 700 new cases in one day.

Saturday is the fourth day this week that the state has reported at least 500 cases of the virus. Average daily falls now stand at the levels last seen in February.

Hospitalizations from COVID-19 appeared slightly on the plateau after shooting upward in late March, although the state reported on Saturday that the number of people admitted to the hospital had increased by 12.

The state did not report any new deaths.

Vaccines: Oregon reported 54,790 newly administered doses, including 30,068 on Friday and the remainder of previous days.

Who is dead: Health authorities in Oregon did not report any new COVID-19 deaths on Saturday.

Hospitalizations: 170 people with confirmed cases of COVID-19 are being admitted to hospital, compared to 12 as of Friday. This includes 46 people in intensive care, which is higher than Friday.

Since it started: Oregon reported 170,085 confirmed or suspected infections and 2,440 deaths, one of the lowest per capita numbers in the country. To date, the state has administered 2,224,340 doses of vaccines.
