Coronavirus in Oregon: 499 new cases reported, hospitalizations increase

The Oregon Health Authority reported no COVID-19 deaths and 499 new cases on Sunday, the sixth day this week with at least 400 cases.

Average daily falls now stand at the levels last seen in February. Hospitalizations from COVID-19 increased to 179, after being recently plateaued.

Vaccines: Oregon reported 33,381 newly administered doses, including 22,729 on Saturday and the remainder of previous days.

Where the new cases are by country: Baker (1), Benton (6), Clackamas (72), Clatsop (1), Columbia (9), Coos (6), Crook (3), Deschutes (35), Douglas (6), Grant (7), Jackson (22), Jefferson (8), Josephine (9), Klamath (35), Lane (46), Lincoln (7), Linn (11), Malheur (1), Marion (47), Morrow (1), Multnomah (99), Polk (11), Tillamook (2), Union (1), Wallowa (1), Washington (43) and Yamhill (9).

Hospitalizations: 179 people with confirmed cases of COVID-19 are being admitted to hospital, which was three as of Wednesday. This includes 46 people in intensive care, the same number as on Saturday.

Since it started: Oregon reported 170,568 confirmed or suspected infections and 2,440 deaths, one of the lowest per capita numbers in the country. To date, the state has administered 2,258,702 doses of vaccines.
