The Oregon Health Authority on Monday announced 178 new cases of coronavirus and two deaths.
Where the new cases are by country: Baker (1), Benton (5), Clackamas (20), Coos (13), Curry (1), Deschutes (2), Douglas (5), Harney (1), Jackson (22), Jefferson (2), Josephine (3), Klamath (11), Lane (10), Lincoln (1), Linn (1), Marion (7), Multnomah (36), Polk (4), Washington (32) and Yamhill (1).
Who died: Oregon’s 2,323th COVID 19 death is a 69-year-old woman from Columbia Province who tested positive on Feb. 19 and died on March 2.

Each person had underlying health conditions, or government officials were determining if the person had underlying medical conditions. Officials also confirmed the locations of the deaths.
The incidence of infections: On Monday, the state reported 202 new positive tests out of 6,933 tests performed, which equates to a 2.9% positivity rate.
Who became infected: Newly confirmed or suspected infections grew between Friday and Monday among the following age groups: 0-9 (30); 10-19 (112); 20-29 (123); 30-39 (125); 40-49 (129); 50-59 (95); 60-69 (68); 70-79 (49); 80 and older (19).
Who is in the hospital: The state reported that 118 people were admitted to the hospital with a confirmed case of COVID-19, which is 18 more than Sunday’s figure. There were 23 COVID-19 patients in intensive care (ICU) beds, two more than were in similar care on Sunday.
Vaccines administered: Oregon administered 1,346,090 doses as of Monday. The state reported 24,077 new doses. Of these vaccines, 13,529 doses were administered on Sunday and 10,548 were administered previous days but administered in the system on Sunday.
Since it started: Oregon reported 159,788 confirmed or suspected infections and 2,234 deaths, one of the lowest per capita numbers in the country. To date, the state has reported 3,970,707 laboratory reports of tests
