Control Developer Solution had only a record year without releasing a game

Remedy more than doubled its operating profit in 2020 and achieved a record financial year despite the release of no games. According to the company’s latest financial report for the 12 months to 31 December 2020, revenue for the full year was 30% higher at € 41.1 million. . The operating profit amounts to € 13.2 million, more than twice the € 6.5 million achieved during 2019.

These figures make 2020 a record-breaking year for the Finnish developer. This was all done without a new release of the game. Instead, success came from the continued sales of Control. Remedy launched the game in 2020 on additional platforms such as Steam, Xbox Game Pass and cloud services, and an Ultimate Edition was released by 505 Games that includes a next-generation upgrade for console gamers. While no new games were released in 2020, Remedy did release extensions for Control, including AWE, which tied shared story threads between Control and Alan Wake.

With a record year out of direction, Remedy is on track to achieve a development-heavy 2021. The company recently signed an agreement with Epic Games’ new publishing company, with which it will produce a AAA game and a smaller-scale project, both for console. and computer.

In addition, Remedy is also working with Smilegate on the single-player campaign of the exclusive Xbox shooter, CrossfireX. We already have a brief look at what has been produced so far, and it looks like Remedy is going to use the full Call of Duty on this one.
