Contractor finds secret messages, bottle of whiskey from old homeowners under the floor

You just never know what you’ll get in an old house.

A contractor in Scotland approved it when he discovered a secret message and a bottle of whiskey hidden under the floor of a house he was renovating.

Craig Harrigan from Perth recently tore old floors in a kitchen when he and his helper found the wonderful surprise, reports The Sun.

“We’re stripping a kitchen, me and Phillip, and we’re getting a message under the floor,” Harrigan said with a smile in a now viral TikTok, which has been viewed 116,000 times since hitting the platform last week . .

“Jack and May lived here – three children and a dog. The kitchen was finished during April / May 2001,” he read of the note scratched on linoleum. “All the best !! Have a drink on us.” In the corner was a small bottle of Glenkinchie whiskey.

Now the souvenirs will apparently remain in the family. According to the store, Harrigan’s customer is the daughter of Jack, who bought the house from her father. The new owner plans to keep the whiskey and the piece of linoleum as a toast on her digs.
