Brown fans must be very excited to bring in Troy Hill’s cornerback. The former Rams CB agreed on Thursday to agree with the Browns to take over the position as the corner of the team. And a very good deal got even better for the Browns.
The terms of the deal are far more favorable to the Browns than initially reported. What was listed as a $ 24 million four-year contract by some sources it is in fact inaccurate.
Per Mary Kay Cabot of cleveland.com signed Hill for two years, not for four, although there are two void seasons at the end of the contract. Instead of $ 24 million, it’s just $ 9 million with the chance to bump up to $ 10 million. A full $ 4 million was guaranteed to Hill at the time of signing.
The transaction is still not officially processed, so the reported numbers may change again. But landing a very good starting corner for $ 4.5 million a season is an agreement for Andrew Berry and the Browns’ financial team.
