Conor McGregor opens draws to find the next opponent

Conor McGregor keeps his options open.

Doubts have been expressed about a reported trilogy fight between McGregor and rival Dustin Poirier amid a public dispute over McGregor who allegedly denied a donation figure of six figures to donate to Poirier’s Good Fight Foundation charity. It was Poirier who first mentioned on Twitter that the McGregor team had yet to fetch the $ 500,000 to be donated to the organization after their reunion at UFC 257 in January. threatening that their upcoming UFC 264 fight is ‘off’ on July 10th.

The result has yet to be officially announced by the UFC. On Tuesday, McGregor posted on Twitter that he “wants to start the foundations of a good fight, who’s there?” in an apparent sweep after Poirier’s founding and an appeal to who should be his next opponent.

While it’s not clear if McGregor is fighting someone else at UFC 264 or simply inciting potential matches in the future, several UFC fighters came forward a day earlier to offer to fill the alleged vacancy in to fill.

Three-time Bellator champion Michael Chandler, who is currently battling Charles Oliveira for a vacant lightweight title at UFC 262 on May 15, has offered to make a quick turnaround and meet McGregor at UFC 264.

Rafael dos Anjos, who previously had to defend the UFC lightweight championship against McGregor at UFC 196 before an injury removed him from the event, also threw in his hat for the possibility of a ‘red pant night’.

Two other lightweight veterans also expressed interest in a McGregor collision, Kevin Lee and Michael Johnson.

Sou Poirier vs. McGregor 3 for whatever reason does not happen, it seems McGregor has the choice to find a replacement.
