Connecticut Health System Cancels Deficit Vaccination Appointments

The University of Connecticut health system is canceling COVID-19 vaccinations due to the deficiency.

On the COVID-19 vaccine program website, UConn Health said that the weekly allocation of vaccines is being reduced due to the shortage of the product at state and federal level.

All appointments for the first vaccine doses scheduled from Monday to February 8 are canceled and no new first dose appointments are accepted. The health system said decisions on the cancellation of additional appointments after February 8 will be made next week.

UConn Health has said it plans to meet its obligations to those planning to receive a second dose.

About 300,000 individuals in Connecticut received their first doses of coronavirus as of Friday, According to Government office of Ned Lamont (D). About 64,000 received their second.

The state is tans inenting healthcare professionals, residents of long-term care institutions, medical first responders and individuals aged 75 and over.

Connecticut reported 250,023 total positive COVID-19 cases as of Saturday and 7,046 deaths.

Lamont said Thursday that he had considered easing some of the state’s coronavirus restrictions, including ending numbers at worship houses and lifting the 22:00 curfew at restaurants.
