Lauren Boebert, advocate for the second amendment, gets criticism over the tweet about Joe Biden’s “lid,” while dozens of police rushed to a shooting at a grocery store in Colorado.
Police tweeted an active shooting alert in Boulder shortly before 3 p.m. local time, with a video showing a handcuffed man, shirtless and full of blood, escorted out of the building about 30 minutes later.
“The White House only called a lid today at 13:00. Biden is at least figuratively back in the basement,” Ms Boebert tweeted.
“Meanwhile, the country is in chaos and the border is falling apart.”
The tweet, which had 6,500 preferences, had 2,500 comments that focused heavily on the timing of her criticism of Joe Biden’s daily schedule.
“Hey, did any comments fall on the people in Boulder while they were buying groceries?” asked a user.
Ms Boebert commented on the shooting shortly after reports began appearing, and posted on her personal and government accounts to denounce the shooting.
“My prayers are with the buyers, employees, first responders and others affected by the Boulder shooting,” she said. “While we are still waiting for important information and details in this case, random public shootings and senseless acts are never good.”
It comes after me. Boebert critics of Twitter over her joke about the fall of Mr. Biden slammed back against the stairs of Air Force One.
“Yesterday I put all my guns up,” she wrote on Twitter, adding, “Biden can never reach them now!”
Her political opponents missed the hashtag #LaurenBoebertIsSoDumb because one user said, “She hid her guns and then told the world where they were.”
In response, Ms. Boebert said the hat brand is an example of misogyny among Democrats who hate women.
‘Seeing the #LaurenBoebertIsSo dumb trend at number one just proves what I said all week. “Leftists hate women and I am their biggest target,” she said in a tweet.
