Colorado moves to relax mask mandate, capacity constraints

DENVER (AP) – The Colorado Department of Health is relaxing its mandate over the entire mask and capacity-building restrictions, saying the state’s role in determining COVID-19 restrictions will reduce in favor of more local control as the vaccination qualifies, opens wider.

The proposal, announced Friday, will enable local authorities and ‘private entities’ in the provinces with the lowest coronavirus infections to determine whether or not masks are needed.

It would also end most capacity constraints for restaurants, retailers and outdoor events. There are currently only two provinces where this applies: the rural Crowley and Otero provinces.
