The aircraft landed high at El Dorado Airport, Bogotá, at around 13.10 local time, containing the doses followed by Covax workers, which this mechanism patronized by the World Health Organization (OMS) has only taken to Ghana, Costa de Marfil, India, South Korea in Colombia at the moment.
“Celebro constitutes the first entry of caravans in Colombia, the first country of the United States to receive caravans through the Covax mechanism”, says the Director General of the OMS, Tedros Adhanon Ghebreyesus
The Colombian Gobierno partnered with Covax on October 30 in an agreement to acquire 20 million doses of the standard pharmaceutical vaccine to immunize 10 million people.
The President of Colombia, Ivan Duque, who received this new contingent of vacancies, as he said with the previous ones, reconciles the work of Covax to guarantee “that countries that do not have sufficient media to access the people (vacancies) can make a fair and just way “.
Tedros records that 237 million vacancies will be allocated to 142 countries through this multilateral body for global access to covid-19 vacancies and favor that no country, depending on the level of rent or the power of negotiation, be left behind the work of inoculating the reactive against the virus.
“I have a lot to do”, Tedros confessed, to start the vacation in all the countries in which the first 100 days of the year will be imposed.
“We have 40 days and access to vacancies only is the correct one and the most intelligent we can do”, says the director of the OMS.
