Pokémon GO introduces a new feature – Collection Challenges! Collecting Challenges is a handy concept that requires players to collect Pokémon during certain events.
Completing collection challenges gives different rewards in the game and adds levels to your new Elite Collector Medal. Collection challenges are available in Today View and are linked to the corresponding game in the game.
Once the game has ended, the scheduled Collection Challenge closes and can no longer be completed. In a sense, collecting challenges is like a timely investigation, but completing them counts for your Elite Collector Medal.
Unova Collection Challenge is the first Collection Challenge in Pokémon GO
The Unova Celebration event will take place tomorrow, January 5, 2020 at 10:00 local time. In order to promote the event and promote the launch of Collection Challenges, Unova includes Pokémon!

Judging by the originally leaked timer, the challenge is live from Tuesday 5 January 2021 at 10:00 to Sunday 10 January 2021 at 20:00 local time.

Our thoughts on collecting challenges
Initially, I felt that Collection Challenges would be another FOMO (fear of missing out) moment for Pokémon GO players, but my position on the matter has changed since then.
Since the challenge has a low participation bar, and since the rewards are not overwhelmingly lucrative, it actually feels a small pull in the direction of increased player participation during in-game matches.
Okay with me, especially if you think Niantic raises spawns for the Pokémon needed to complete the challenge during the Unova Celebration event. The spawn table can be reinforced in a bad way, but we hope that will not be the case.
About optimistic about the feature – let’s see how it shapes in the next few events.
