The rules for engagement change for the second season of Ronald D. Moore alt-history space race series: because war is coming to the moon. Maybe pirates, too?

Apple has just released a new trailer for the second season of For all mankind, the alternative history-science series that imagine a world where the space race did not end with nations of the world placing astronauts in orbit and on the moon. Instead, tensions between America and Russia continue to escalate as the Cold War simmers, bringing the potential for conflict under NASA’s mission to put humanity in the stars.

What this means for our heroic astronauts is that they, along with the delusion of wanting to be at the forefront of the space race, are facing the increasingly real prospect of conflict on the moon. NASA must investigate reports that the USSR has stationed a military outpost on the moon capable of sending nuclear missiles to any target on Earth. Which of course would be bad!

For all mankind returns to Apple TV + on February 19th.
