Cold War Black Ops fans show players through walls

If you played Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War recently, and you killed in a very unusual way, there is a good explanation. Apparently one of the many attachments of the game allows players to essentially look through walls and thus increase the competition.

Noted by u / AvHsA on Reddit, if you attach the Tiger Team Spotlight Body attachment to a weapon, you can then see the names of the enemy players appear as you aim. The appendix does not reveal the exact breakdown of opposing players, but if you can see their name in the game, it’s good enough to drop them. This is obviously a big problem and it’s something Treyarch will probably have to try to fix sooner rather than later.

It is noteworthy that from this writing it is unclear how consistent this error is as a whole Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War. This trick was discovered on one of the game’s newer maps, Express, but it’s unclear if it’s a problem everywhere. Furthermore, it is not really known whether the same error occurs with the Tiger Team Spotlight attachment if it is equipped with all weapons, or that it only causes the problem with certain guns.

At the time of writing, Treyarch has not said anything about the error and may not even be aware of its existence. It also does not seem to be something that is a lot Black Ops Cold War players even noticed until recently. That said, the longer it stays in the game, the more players will start to know about it and are likely to take advantage of it. As such, Treyarch needs to know about this really quickly or destroy the meta of Black Ops Cold War for the foreseeable future.

If we hear anything new about the studio’s plans to fix this bug, you’ll make sure of it in the future. Until then you can play Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War now on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X / S and PC. In addition, you can continue our coverage of the title here.
