CoD: R1 Crusade from Black Ops Cold War has an actual release date this time

After an unintended early release last week, Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War and War zonesay R1 Shadowhunter crossbow will be officially released on March 24, Treyarch announced Monday.

Treyarch gives players two different ways to unlock the R1 Shadowhunter once the weapon is in play. The first method involves completing a challenge by using an unattached weapon to win three “One Shot, One Kill” medals in 15 different matches. If players want to unlock the R1 through the challenge, they will do so first should unlock the challenge itself, but Treyarch has not yet announced how it works. The other, much faster method is to simply purchase the “Archaic Range” bundle at the in-game store.

The Archaic Range Bundle features the weapon blueprint “Lancehead” that equips the Shadowhunter with some special attachments, the “Medieval Archer” animated emblem, the “Old Time Sniper” sticker and the “Stolen Idol” charm.

The R1 is one of the new weapons for Black Ops Cold War and War zone season 2. Treyarch accidentally released the crossbow last week and pulled the weapon a few hours later. Luckily, everyone who bought the weapon at the in-game store refunded their money, but according to Treyarch, players who made progress with the unlock challenge had to recover their progress.
