CoD: Black Ops Zombies of the Cold War Depart for Vietnam with Firebase Z Card

Treyarch finally has the latest Zombies map for Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War, and it’s going to send players deep into the jungles of Vietnam. After weeks of instant efforts, the developer on Thursday showed the first trailer for the map.

The new card is called Firebase Z, and it’s changing a lot of the other card from Black Ops Cold War. In addition to the rank-and-file zombies that players are used to seeing, Firebase Z will also feature a brand new type of boss zombies that are likely to spawn in specific rounds.

The trailer shows a small group of special soldiers being transported through a Dark Aether portal and into a zombie nightmare. From there, the trailer transforms into a zombie-killing montage showcasing some of Firebase Z locations. It looks like the map will be quite large and will cover most of a small military outpost. The trailer also ends with the arrival of a massive zombie cycle that shoots a laser out of his eyes, which looks like it could be one of the most threatening enemies each included on a Zombies map.

The trailer also gives us a brief look at the new weapons on offer across the map, including an assault rifle that apparently fires some sort of energy grenade. Of course, there are also plenty of options for Pack-A-Punch, which will return here, and there’s probably another complicated Easter egg for players to sink their teeth into once the card is released.

For more information on Firebase Z, we’ll have to wait until Treyarch is ready to show more, or until the map is released on February 4th. The card is available for free to all players on all consoles.
