Elisabeth Shue’s Alison “Ali” Mills
Tamlyn Tomita’s Kumiko and Yuji Okumoto’s Chozen (and freakin ” kid in the storm ‘Yuna!) Were not the only characters from The Karate Kid’s past to appear in season 3.
In the last three episodes was Elisabeth Shue’s Alison “Ali” Mills, who returned to the Valley for the holidays from Colorado.
And while there seemed to be a new spark between Ali and Johnny, who spent a fun evening together playing mini golf and remembering their past and making the past happen, Ali was not there to not to be confused between Johnny and Miguel’s mother, Carmen (Vanessa Rubio). She was also not there to cause (too much) tension between Johnny and Daniel – although there were some initially.
At the Encino Oaks Club, Ali and Johnny joined Daniel and his wife Amanda (Courtney Henggeler) for an evening of drinks and memories as Ali finally had to tell her and tell her side of the story regarding the big feud. between Daniel and Johnny from decades before. She also had to reveal that Daniel, after The Karate Kid, basically became the overprotective and jealous boyfriend who made Johnny the mistake of being. And as with Johnny, it caused Ali to break up with Daniel.
Daniel and Johnny made peace with each other a few times over the course of Cobra Kai’s first two seasons, only to see the fragile ceasefire decay fairly quickly. However, Alison was able to bring these two together in a more meaningful way and set them up for the big choice they make at the end of the episode.
Great moments for Sam, Miguel and Hawk
While Daniel and Amanda chatted after Johnny and Ali, Sam’s attempt to get Miyagi-Do and Eagle Fang students together was led into a trap by Cobra Kai’s cool growl – and what followed was season 3. ‘s climate karate. fight inside the LaRusso house!
This brutal ‘one-shot’ fight not only put the teens with fists, elbows, knees and feet together, but also great character moments for three fighters – Sam, Miguel and Hawk.
Sam, who has had panic attacks and freezes in high school since her fight with Tory (Peyton List), was able to overcome her fear with the help of the advice that Mr. Miyagi gave to Daniel when he fought Mike Barnes in The Karate. Child Part III. She then used a staff to fight a Tory in the dojo of her home and tackle her.
At the same time, Miguel (Xolo Maridueña), who struggled for months to regain his leg strength, used his inner anger and drive to fight back against Kyler, who became one of Cobra Kai’s newest and cruelest students. . Miguel may not have been at full strength again yet, but his burst of energy and power was enough to take down his season 1 school enemy.
The biggest turn, however, comes from Hawk (Jacob Bertrand), who after reviewing the damage he and his dojo mates inflicted, decided to listen to his inner voice over Kreese’s lies and turn on Cobra Kai in the middle. of the battle. Together with his old friend Demetri (Gianni Decenzo), the two Cobra Kai soldiers took pictures with ease.
Cobra Kai Origins and the Tease of Thomas Ian Griffith’s Terry Silver
Throughout season 3, viewers got to know the history of John Kreese. His mother’s tragic suicide brought him into a difficult life to be plucked and wiped out, which led him back into the military.
In the military, while serving in the Vietnam War abroad, Kreese was trained by his captain in karate and in the merciless manner of warfare and covert open. Unfortunately, Kreese’s reluctance to kill his own friend led to his group being captured and held captive by the enemy. Kreese blamed himself for their predicament, and then saw his friends fight to the death over a snake pit in pairs. This is where the insane and toxic John Kreese we know from The Karate Kid was born.
This crucible not only bore the name Cobra Kai, but it also showed that Kreese was a man who was pushed over the edge when he killed his captain straight across the snake pit after it was clear that they were all on point to be saved. . Kreese had just learned that his girlfriend had died at home – a secret his captain kept from him – and the news, plus the fight, caused Kreese to snatch and kill someone for no justifiable reason.
So who finally calls Kreese? Although nothing has been confirmed yet, the chances are high that Kreese will make contact with his Vietnamese friend Terry Silver, the man who is shown in Kreese’s flashbacks as the most vulnerable of the group. The man who told Kreese he owed him because he saved his life.
Terry Silver was the main antagonist of The Karate Kid Part III, where he was played by Thomas Ian Griffith. After the war, Terry learned karate himself and then used his wealth (which he obtained from running a toxic waste disposal business) to create Cobra Kai and give it as a gift to John so he could manage. After John Kreese’s scandal in Karate Kid I (and II), Terry Cobra took over Kai and came up with a plan to kill Daniel and Mr. Miyagi to destroy and to shame.
In Cobra Kai’s second season, Daniel told Sam and the others on Miyagi-Do even he was once Cobra Kai. This is what Daniel was referring to. In The Karate Kid Part III, Terry lied to Daniel and told him that he was driving Cobra Kai the right way and when Miyagi refused to train Daniel for another tournament fight, Daniel went to Cobra Kai and practiced under Terry . However, it was again a trap to lure Daniel into the final round of the All Valley Tournament and have it destroyed by another fighter, ‘Karate’s Bad Boy’, Mike Barnes (Sean Kanan).
Miyagi-Do and Eagle Fang Alliance
Although Daniel has no idea that Kreese (probably) is appealing to Terry Silver to help him inflict mass damage in Season 4, Cobra Kai, now with Johnny’s son Robby (Tanner Buchanan) as star student , enough of his threat. possession for Daniel and Johnny to finally put their differences aside and unite in one dojo. While they will certainly stick their heads out over teaching styles, and probably even over a new name for the dojo, they will need all their combined courage and strength to fight Cobra Kai.
Kreese set the rules. Whoever loses at the next tournament is gone. Who will be the potential champion from each dojo? Let’s look again at Robby vs. Miguel? But this time, Robby, who lost his way after feeling abandoned and betrayed after season 2, will be the ruthless fighter and Miguel, who is now on the side of peace and defense again, will be the Miyagi-Do representative?
Or maybe we see something more in the line of Sam vs. Tory? We know there has been a female branch of the tournament since we saw Aisha fight in season 1 (although we do not know who won the series). We also do not know if fellow fights are allowed, because then there are even more possibilities.
Will there be a secret karate trick that can help Miyagi-Do and Eagle Fang float this time? Daniel has already broken his strike special paralysis, which he learned in Okinawa, on Kreese in the finals. Can those come back again, or will there be more magic to unlock?
What would you like to see happen in Cobra Kai: Season 4? Who will make the final round of All Valley? Is Mike Barnes going back with Terry Silver?
And what about a possible appearance by Hilary Swank, as Julie Pierce from The Next Karate Kid from 1994? Daniel will need all the help he can get, right?
