Coachella and Stagecoach parties canceled (again)

To the surprise of no one who paid attention to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival and Stagecoach Festival, which takes place three weekends in Indio’s Empire Polo Club, were canceled.

According to an announcement from the Riverside County Public Health Officer posted Friday afternoon, the events were closed “based on concerns about the revival of the fall” of COVID-19.

Coachella and his cousin for country music Stagecoach were both originally planned for April 2020 and were one of the first festivals canceled during the initial efforts of the coronavirus pandemic. They were then rescheduled for October and then again for April 2021.

Travis Scott, Frank Ocean and Rage Against the Machine were the scheduled Coachella heads.

AEG, which owns festival promoter Goldenvoice, did not comment further on the cancellation or when potential new dates would be announced.
