CNN anchor Brianna Keilar recorded former United Nations Ambassador Nikki Haley on Thursday after the former Trump nominee accused the mainstream media of wanting to split the Republican Party.
Haley wrote a statement in The Wall Street Journal in which he slammed the media after a recent interview she gave to Politico for dismissing former President Donald Trump as a future GOP leader after the deadly riot on 6 January.
“[The liberal media] “a non-stop Republican civil war,” Haley wrote. The media playbook begins with the demand that everyone should take his side on Donald Trump – whether he should love or hate everything. The moment someone on the right makes the slightest criticism of the 45th president, the media goes head to head: Republicans try to have it both ways! It is a calculated strategy to pit conservatives against each other. It’s also a ridiculously false choice. Real life is never that simple. Someone can do good and bad things. ‘
Keilar fired back on Thursday by playing a montage of prominent GOP lawmakers defending and criticizing Trump in recent weeks.

“Haley says the media wants to incite a Republican civil war. How can that happen? By telling Americans that it’s happening, what are Republicans saying on either side of this chasm? Maybe there would be no civil war if the media just stopped documenting? “Keilar said.
“There’s a civil war,” she later added. “The GOP is eating its own way, throwing out good people while knowing conspiracy theorists. And the media ignoring it, Mitt Romney and Josh Hawley will somehow disagree on the existential questions with which their party will not stand up. ”
The CNN anchor then accused the former South Carolina governor of “trying to have it both ways” by praising Trump’s policies while condemning his actions after his defeat in the November election.
