CNN says he has reinstated Chris Cuomo’s ban on covering his brother

CNN claimed on Wednesday that it was reintroducing a ‘rule’ that prevented Chris Cuomo from interviewing or covering up his brother – after the host scandalized the debilitating death of the nursing home, which engulfed Governor Andrew Cuomo, completely ignored.

Last year, Chris Cuomo repeatedly interviewed his older brother about the coronavirus pandemic, which involved rioters who were often creepy who initially helped raise ratings for the Cuomo Prime Time at 9 p.m.

But the controversy over the Cuomo government’s permissible cover-up over death tolls in nursing homes – which was revealed exclusively by The Post last week – is not mentioned in Chris’ hour-long program.

This despite coverage in other CNN shows, including Sunday’s ‘State of the Union’, in which host Jake Tapper criticized the state health department’s since the March 25 inauguration for nursing homes to admit COVID-19 patients.

“So Governor Cuomo, who despite decades of requests over the past year, also in the past week, did not want to appear on this program, made a bad decision that could have cost lives,” Tapper said.

“And then his administration hid the data from the public.”

On Monday, ‘Anderson Cooper 360’ also dedicated a section to Andrew Cuomo’s first news conference since the outbreak of the controversy, including a reference to how some Democratic lawmakers want to strip him of his pandemic – related emergency powers.

It also contains critical remarks from Nick Langworthy, chairman of the state’s Republican Committee, who said: “The seriousness of this cover-up cannot be overstated.”

“Andrew Cuomo should be prosecuted and Andrew Cuomo should be charged if this evidence exists,” Langworthy added.

In a prepared statement, a CNN spokesman said: ‘The first months of the pandemic crisis were an extraordinary time. We felt that it was important for Chris to talk to his brother about the challenges that millions of American families were facing. ”

‘As a result, we made an exception to a rule that has been in place for us since 2013, which prevents Chris from interviewing his brother, and that the rule still applies today. “CNN discussed the news about Governor Cuomo in detail,” the statement read.

The network did not respond to a request when Cuomo’s government was again banned from doing his brother’s show.

But in October, Chris Cuomo quarreled over a heated argument with GOP senator Ted Cruz in Texas over his older brother’s decision to ban nursing homes from repelling coronavirus patients in the wake of the pandemic.

‘There’s something disgusting the Democrats are doing, this [presidential candidate] “Joe Biden is doing and what you are doing is blaming the people who lost their lives on your political enemies,” the Republican lawmaker said, making his first appearance on Cuomo’s show. ‘It’s especially not right if your brother led the state with the highest death rate in the country.

“Was it a mistake when your brother implemented a policy that nursing homes should accept COVID-positive patients and endanger the lives of tens of thousands of elderly people in New York State?”

Cuomo avoided giving a yes-or-no answer to the charge.

“My brother was the first one to say that there is a learning curve and that mistakes have been made and that they have changed things as soon as possible,” he said.

“So the old age homes were the sum total of the whole problem in the country? Is that what it was? Chris Cuomo – himself a survivor of the coronavirus – shot back at Cruz.

“This resulted in New York having 33,000 deaths compared to Texas which had 15,000 deaths, and Texas has 50 percent more population than in New York,” Cruz said. “Tell your brother to go for it.”
